ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR DESIGNERS BY REACH DESIGN CO.

Working in the creative sphere, things can feel a little lonely if you’re freelancing or going solo. One of our favorite things about a co-working space is the feeling of community, where potential advice and collaborations are just a glance and a smile away. Remembering that you already have something big in common with the people in your industry, connecting to as many fellow creators is essential towards bettering your craft and growing as a person. We asked Made at The Citadel‘s (and our) creative team for some tips to help those starting out or looking for a little artistic Feng Shui. Check out 3 important tips from Reach Design Co.:

1. SKETCH, SKETCH, SKETCH!

Drawing is the most fundamental and efficient way a designer can problem solve and quickly relay information visually. Sketching can transform abstract ideas into clear images and strengthen your design process from concept to presentation. Plus, it’s therapeutic and fun.

2. #NEVERNOTWORKING.

Use your downtime wisely and be conscious of how you spend your energy. Rather than watching Netflix all weekend, invest in something more fruitful like a photography lesson, social media workshop, or participating in a community event. Use your downtime to sharpen your skills in a way that YOU find fun and interesting so your creative juices never dry out.

3. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR WORKSPACE.

Surround yourself with fellow motivated creatives and plenty of indoor plants! A mindful workspace creates a productive and healthy environment for ideas and relationships to thrive.
